Brancusi and form

Brancusi, this artist from the East of Europe, emigrated to Paris and emerged as a maker and breaker of shapes and materials.

Never did bronze and marble look the same after him.

This sculpture is "Sleeping muse": the impression it gives is one of infinite softness and gentleness.

There was an exhibition recently at Tate Modern in London, and a lot of his works are at the Pompidou Centre of Modern Arts in Paris.
